Single Voice Reading Series To Present Sarah Arvio

Feb. 15, 2013 — The Single Voice Reading Series at Allegheny College continues on Thursday, Feb. 21, with a reading by Sarah Arvio at 7 p.m. in the Tillotson Room of the Tippie Alumni Center. The reading is free and open to the public.

Arvio has published three books: “Visits from the Seventh,” “Sono: cantos” and “Night Thoughts: 70 Dream Poems and Notes from an Analysis,” a work of poetry and prose that was published in January by Knopf.

She has won a Rome Prize Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship and, most recently, a Bogliasco Fellowship, among other honors. She is now at work on the translation of several poets from Spanish, French and Italian. For many years a freelance translator for the United Nations in New York and Switzerland, she has also recently taught poetry at Princeton.
