Allegheny’s Jazz Dance Ensemble to Host Annual Concert Benefiting Crawford County Special Olympics

Allegheny’s Jazz Dance Ensemble (JaDE) is hosting its 13th annual benefit concert on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 7 p.m. The free concert includes performances from the Allegheny College Dance Team, Ballroom 3, JaDE alumni, and The Patterson School of Ballet. All proceeds raised go to support the Crawford County Special Olympics.

“I am most excited to share the dances we have been preparing for the past few weeks and to raise money for such a great organization,” says outreach chair Jenna Monteleone ’23. “I love that we give back to a local group so we see how it directly impacts the athletes!”

This year, JaDE hosted a Dance-A-Thon in advance of the concert and partnered with the Crawford County Special Olympics to put together the event. They raised over $1,000 for the cause and are excited to have that as the jumping-off point.

“All the athletes had a great time and many asked if we were doing it again next year, so I would call it a great success,” says Monteleone.

The concert is free and open to the public, and donations will be taken before the show and during intermission. Proceeds from entries into raffle baskets will also go to the Crawford County Special Olympics.
