Allegheny College Featured in “Fiske Guide to Colleges 2021”

Fiske Guide to Colleges 2021 logoAllegheny College is featured in the “Fiske Guide to Colleges 2021,” the 37th edition of a reference book for prospective students and their families that describes life on campus at the “best and most interesting” schools in the nation.

The “Fiske Guide to Colleges” publishes detailed profiles, including interviews with students, for more than 300 four-year schools. The guide is fully updated and expanded every year.

The “Fiske Guide to Colleges” describes Allegheny as a place “with a rich history of academic excellence,” where students complete a Senior Comprehensive Project and at least one minor in addition to their major. “Students praise Allegheny’s faculty for their passion, knowledge, and accessibility,” according to the guide. An economics major interviewed for the guide shared that “All the professors I’ve had take my success very seriously, and understand that my learning is different from other students.”

The “Fiske Guide to Colleges” also notes that Allegheny students gain real-world experience alongside their classroom work. “The Allegheny Gateway works with students to coordinate internships, study abroad, community service, and undergraduate research, and the school encourages students to have multiple experiences in these areas,” the Fiske Guide notes.
