Allegheny College Hosts Events to Celebrate Achievements, Award Recipients in the 2020–21 Academic Year

Allegheny College is hosting several events on Thursday, May 13, to celebrate student achievements and award recipients in the 2020–21 academic year. The Allegheny community, family members, and others are invited to join the events virtually.

The fourth annual Richard J. Cook-Teresa M. Lahti Scholars Symposium is a virtual event featuring the Senior Comprehensive Projects of approximately 60 students from across all departments and programs at Allegheny. Visitors can browse through projects, watch video introductions by students, and leave questions or notes of encouragement for students. You can join the virtual symposium here.

This year’s Interdisciplinary Symposium, “In Times of Crisis and Change,” is a virtual event featuring more than 40 collaborative research projects conducted by students and faculty across academic disciplines at the College. The projects explore many dimensions of what living through crisis and social change means while creating new approaches that address and solve complex local, national, and global problems. You can join the virtual symposium here.

The Honors Convocation, Allegheny’s annual year-end ceremony at which students are recognized for their achievements, will be live-streamed; the event will be held in person for prize and award recipients only. Students will receive prizes from academic departments and programs, and Allegheny President Hilary L. Link will announce the recipients of the Thoburn and Julian Ross Awards for Teaching Excellence. The ceremony begins at 4 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, May 13. You can view the ceremony here.
