Morgan Douglas Dukman ’23 is on a mission to secure the United States’ national security intelligence.

Dukman says Allegheny College allowed her to pursue all her interests, setting her apart in the field and leading her to a position as a cybersecurity officer with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

“I absolutely loved my professors at Allegheny! The economics, business, and mathematics professors pushed students to be the best they could be, and the professors were a great support system,” says Dukman, an economics major with minors in computer science and mathematics. “In addition to the intensity of classes, being a Center for Business and Economics Student Fellow helped with my public speaking and networking skills.” 

Dukman is a recent graduate of the master’s program in information security policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). 

“I took advantage of Allegheny’s close relationship with CMU and did a 3-2 program, which allowed me to complete my bachelor’s degree in three years and go straight to CMU to complete my master’s degree in two years,” states Dukman. 

After completing her third year at Allegheny College, Dukman served as a summer security intensive follow at CMU’s IT Lab, where she dove into learning about cybersecurity for the United States Strategic Command. The organization is one of eleven command centers under the Department of Defense. 

Dukman continued pursuing opportunities to protect online users by becoming a Department of Defense SMART Scholar and interning as a data scientist with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), where she now works.

She advises current students to “Enjoy your time at Allegheny! You never know who you will meet on your journey. I met my fiancé at Allegheny, and I have met various alumni on my travels around the world.”
