Italy: “From Magna Graecia to Mezzogiorno”
DATES: May 13—June 6, 2018 TAUGHT BY: Mark Cosdon
An interdisciplinary exploration of southern Italy, an immensely beautiful, contentious, historically rich, and fertile region. Known as Magna Graecia by ancient Greek colonists and il Mezzogiorno by contemporary Italians, southern Italy is a land of contrasts. The stunning countryside and urban centers reveal the legacy of many great civilizations—Greeks and Romans, Normans, Angevins, and Bourbons. Our course’s study includes extended study in Rome, Naples, Capri, Pompeii, Lecce, Paestum, Otranto, Vatican City, and Alberobello. Four credits will be earned upon successful completion.
Application Deadline: November 15, 2017
