Student Employee Checklist

I-9 Federal Employment Verification

Before a student can begin working on campus, the Federal I-9 Form MUST be completed on or before the first day of work. You will need to come to the Human Resources Office in person to complete the Federal Form I-9. Students who have already worked on-campus before

Important Reminders

  • Students are not eligible to begin working until an I-9 has been completed in the HR Office.
  • When completing your I9, you will need to present ORIGINAL, PHYSICAL DOCUMENTATION according to the list of acceptable documents (see next page). Please be prepared to show one document from list A OR a combination of one list B and one list C document. 
  • We must see your original documents – we cannot accept photos, copies or scans of acceptable documents for in-person review of documents.
  • Delays in completing the I-9 will result in a delay to the intended start date.

Onboarding for New Student Employees

Once your I-9 is completed and we fully hire you, you will receive a notification to complete onboarding tasks on your first day of work. This will direct you to update your tax information and enter your direct deposit information (i.e. payment methods).

Time Reporting in Oracle Cloud

As a student employee, you will need to clock in and out each time you work. If you are unable to clock in on your first day of work, please reach out to HR and/or payroll. If you haven’t been fully hired yet, you will not be able to clock in.
