Viewing Sick and Vacation Absence Balances – Supervisors

Supervisors of employees who accrue benefit leave time – sick and vacation – may view their employees’ available Absence plan balances at any time.
From the Oracle Dashboard, click on My Team and then Show More under the visible list of Quick Actions.
Scroll down until you see the Absence section. Then select Absence Balance.
You will see the list of employees who report directly to you. Click on the name of the employee whose Absence Balance you want to view.
More details may be seen by clicking on the Absence plan word – Sick or Vacation
All Absence requests made by the employee will be shown with their status, including those that were Withdrawn (canceled). If there are any still awaiting your Approval you will see the status of Awaiting Approval.
- The summary view provides the current calendar year activity.
- If the employee had a balance at the end of the prior calendar year, a carryover balance will show and is the starting balance for the current year.
- The accrued plan hours processed to date (done with each payroll processed) are then shown.
- If there has been any recorded usage in the current year, the total hours used will be shown.
- The Total Balance is the sum of the carryover balance plus the new accrued hours less the hours used.
The section titled Details can provide the specific details of accrued hours and dates of usage. If you enter a future date in the Balance As‐of Date box, the system will project out your balance as of that date with projected accrued hours and any already requested hours for that plan
