First Year Student Checklist

Below is a checklist of items new students will need to complete.  You can find and keep track of your own checklist by Logging Into your New Student Portal. If you’re having issues accessing your portal, make sure you’re logged out of any other email / gmail accounts and logged into your Allegheny Email Account with your Allegheny credentials, then you should be able to access your portal.  Don’t be intimidated, and if you have any questions, please email orientation@allegheny.edu, or call us at (814) 332-2898

Things to complete before your New Gator Orientation (Deadline, June 30th):

 Complete your FAFSA; Free Application for Federal Student Aid (003230) (if you haven’t already)
Register for a New Gator Orientation (Virtual Summer Program)
Complete your Housing and Meal Plan Selection (Example Screenshots)
Submit your immunization records (including recommended COVID vaccines and booster)
Complete your Student Agreement (available through Self Service)
Fill out your Emergency Contact form (available through Self Service)
□ Health Insurance Agreement (available through Self ServiceExample Screenshots)
□ Complete your FERPA release form as needed
Upload your student ID photo via your New Student Checklist
Fill out your Academic Planning and Interest Form via your New Student Checklist
Arrange any necessary accommodations with Student Accessibility Services if needed

 Prepare for your Course Registration:
Take your Math Placement Assessment (if you plan to take a Math Course)
□ Take your Language Placement Assessment (in all languages with which you have experience)
□ Submit A.P. Scores, Final Transcripts and College Transcripts

Before you arrive at Allegheny in the Fall:

Complete your “Get Inclusive” modules (you will receive an email with this module and information)
Pick your Move-In time (based on email received on or around July 18th)
Complete your parking permit request (if you plan to have a car on campus – Example Screenshots)
 Order your textbooks
 Sign up for Alert Allegheny: Emergency Alert System
