HIST 308 — NEW Course for Fall 2017 (4/27)

New:

A new course, History 308, The French Revolution and Napoleon, has been added to the Fall 2017 schedule. Taught by Professor Shapiro, this course will be offered MW 3:30 – 4:45 pm.

The course is described as “An examination of the origins, nature, and impact of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic period. Among the topics considered are the birth of modern democratic political culture, the causes of revolutionary violence and terror, and the rise of modern nationalism. Prerequisite: History 109 or 157 or 253 or 306, or permission of the instructor.
