PHYS 390, Solar Energy
Credits: 4
Professor Statman
A study of the physics of photovoltaic technologies and systems. This course is an upper-level course that starts with photovoltaic fundamentals, including basics in electrodynamics, solar radiation, and semiconductor physics as they apply to photovoltaic technology. The second part of the course explores various types of solar cells and solar cell architecture. The third, and last part of the course involves the design and placement of photovoltaic systems.
Must be taken on the letter-grade basis
Prerequisites: Physics 120 or 102. Energy 395 is recommended but not required.
