Upperclass students living in college-owned houses (Independent Living Spaces) have the benefit house living while remaining connected to the college. Allegheny provides oversight of the maintenance of these properties while The Office of Residence Life works to keep students engaged with campus activities and events.
Approximately 140 students live in ~30 units. Just under half are connected to the Special Interest Housing Program and the rest are assigned through the Room Selection process each spring.
College-owned houses can be found on the following streets surrounding the Allegheny College campus: Loomis Street, Park Avenue, Prospect Street, E College Street, Sherman Street, and North Main Street.
