Description: The Advocating Global Health and Development Club is committed to enhancing the overall health and quality of our community by raising awareness of global issues. We are driven by the guiding phrase “think globally, act locally” in which we strive to be mindful of and responsive to health issues worldwide by applying it on a domestic level. We welcome all new members dedicated to sharing their passions about global health and making a difference in their community.
Purpose: AGHD works to educate the Allegheny community about global issues and engage students and faculty in making a difference. Through multiple fundraising initiatives, bringing in speakers, sharing global experiences, and community service, AGHD is involved with many global organizations. It is a club that guides other students about opportunities around the world in global health, economic development, environmental issues and initiatives, and more and provides resources for students to get involved.
