I am an Assistant Professor teaching Intro to Macroeconomics during the Fall 2023 semester. My research focuses on child wellbeing and health, policy analysis, economics of education, and applied microeconomics. I have also contributed to multiple studies related to social programs in child care settings. My contributions to studies on food insecurity, as well as the influence of different policies and programs on child nutrition, health, and academic performance, have been published in journals like the ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, Nutrients, Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior.
Another example of my broader research includes a research report for the World Health Organization (WHO) conducting a scoping review of price impacts on dietary and health outcomes. I presented my research at conferences and seminars, such as the Population Association of America Annual Meeting, and the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) Annual Conference.
Outside of my professional endeavors, I have a wide range of interests that extend beyond economics. I find joy in playing the piano and traveling. I was born and raised in a captivating coastal city in China, so I love swimming, enjoying the beach, and various water recreation activities. I love pets and have a 4-pound tiny poodle named Coco. Among my most treasured moments are those spent with my family, my son, and my dog.
