Philosophy and Religious Studies have a variety of awards which are awarded to juniors and seniors annually.

Voegtly Prize:
This award is given to a senior student showing general excellence in the field of Religious Studies. The Voegtly Prize is in honor of Henry J. Voegtly and his commitment to religious life at Allegheny College.

Awarded for exceptional academic achievement, performance in the seminar, and contribution to the general life of the Religious Studies Department.

Theta Appha Kappa
Theta Alpha Kappa is the national honor society for Religious Studies and Theology;
Allegheny College has been a member since 2010. TAK publishes a semiannual journal.
The purpose of TAK, as noted in its constitution, is four-fold:
- To encourage excellence in the study of religion at both the undergraduate an graduate levels
- To recognize excellence in scholarly and academic achievements
- To help foster and maintain excellence in the professional academic study of religion
- To help local chapters in their efforts to fulfill these purposes
In order to be eligible, students must have a 3.5 GPA in Religious Studies and at least a 3.0 GPA overall.
Phi Sigma Tau
Phi Sigma Tau is the International Honor Society for Philosophy, and Allegheny College has been a member since 2001. Phi Sigma Tau publishes a semi-annual journal, Dialogue.
The purpose of Phi Sigma Tau, as stated in its constitution, is as follows:
- To serve as a means of awarding distinction to students having high scholarship and personal interest in philosophy
- To promote student interest in research and advanced study in this field
- To provide opportunities for the publication of student research papers of merit
- To encourage a professional spirit and friendship among those who have displayed marked ability in this field
- To popularize interest in philosophy among the general collegiate public
Eligibility requirements for membership of Phi Sigma Tau at Allegheny include:
- Completion of at least THREE courses in philosophy (Please note that membership does NOT require a student to be a declared major or minor in philosophy)
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.2
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 for the philosophy courses
