About This Site

This site is maintained by Pelletier Library with contributions from faculty, alumni, and the staff of Pelletier Library. Many thanks to Professor of History Paula Treckel; Arthur L. Lowrie, class of 1955; and Greg Gross, class of 1983.

The Ida M. Tarbell Collection is housed in the Special Collections in Pelletier Library.  Tarbell’s research materials for her published and unpublished works, and her work on Abraham Lincoln, make up the greater part of the collection. Her correspondence and notes along with her manuscripts for her autobiography All in the Day’s Work are an important part of the collection.  In addition, the collection includes photographs, portraits, and memorabilia which provide a glimpse into the life of one of the most influential women of her time. Scholars and researchers who wish to use the collection should contact
