Single Voice Reading Series to Feature Poetry Editor of the Kenyon Review

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Oct. 12, 2009 – David Baker, poetry editor of the Kenyon Review, will read from his works on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. in the Quigley Hall auditorium on the Allegheny College campus.  The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of the college’s Single Voice Reading Series.

Baker has authored or edited 12 books, including works of poetry and criticism. He holds the Thomas B. Fordham Chair of Creative Writing at Denison University and serves on the faculty of Warren Wilson College in the master of fine arts in writing program. Baker also has received awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Society of America.

The Single Voice Reading Series is sponsored by the creative writing program of the Allegheny College Department of English. The series will continue with Julie Otsuka on Oct. 28; Geoffrey Brock and Padma Viswanathan on Feb. 11, 2010; and Robert B. Hass and Keith Taylor on April 22, 2010.
