Single Voice Reading Series Continues with Poets Lauren Alleyne and Allison Wilkins

March 3, 2015 – The Single Voice Reading Series at Allegheny College closes its 2014-15 season at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10 with poets Lauren K. Alleyne and Allison Wilkins reading from their work. The presentation in the Tillotson Room of the Tippie Alumni Center is free and open to the public.

lauren-alleyne-150x150A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Alleyne received her M.F.A. from Cornell University and is currently Poet-in-Residence and an assistant professor of English at the University of Dubuque. Her first book of poems, “Difficult Fruit,” was published in 2014 by Peepal Tree Press.

Allison-Wilkins-150x150Wilkins is an assistant professor of English at Lynchburg College, where she is also poetry editor of the James Dickey Review. Her first book of poems, “Girl Who,” was published by CW Books in 2014. She received her M.F.A. at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is a doctoral candidate at University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
