Timothy Alden Council Executive Committee
The Timothy Alden Council Executive Committee (TACEC) is comprised of 10–15 alumni volunteers who are committed to assisting the College’s yearly fundraising efforts. TACEC volunteers are members of the Timothy Alden Council, an annual membership group recognizing donors who give $1,815 or more to the College. TACEC works to expand the pool of leadership-level donors who make annual gifts to the College. Members serve one-year renewable terms, and Dan Van Aken ’95 chairs the committee this year.
Board of Trustees
The highest level of volunteer service at Allegheny, in terms of accountability, is membership on the Board of Trustees. The trustees have fiduciary responsibility for the College’s governance and policy development. The board includes 37 active and 20 emeritus members under the leadership of its chair, Mark Campbell ’82. Active members are elected to fouryear terms and may serve three consecutive terms. Like the Alumni Council, members are recruited to reflect the entire alumni body and represent a variety of skill sets and expertise.
Class Agents
Class Agents cultivate relationships with classmates and encourage meaningful forms of engagement. Class Agents are a powerful, positive force as they partner with the College, particularly in class fundraising efforts. Program goals include increasing the alumni participation rate and overall giving to Allegheny, encouraging volunteerism and improving communication between alumni and the College. Agents serve one-year renewable terms, and representatives are welcomed from all classes. Interested alumni may sign up through Gator Connect.
The Alumni Council
The Alumni Council is a self-governing, self-perpetuating body whose members work to strengthen the bond among alumni, students, faculty, administration and the Board of Trustees. Members, who serve three-year terms, are selected to broadly represent the interests and concerns of all alumni (including current students). Recent Alumni Council initiatives include partnering with the athletics program to engage alumni athletes and facilitating, with academic departments, the use of alumni as speakers, panelists and student mentors. José Rodriguez ’89 is council’s current president.
