Summary of Position
The Assistant Director of Donor Relations plays a vital role in supporting the stewardship, recognition, and long-term engagement of donors. They are detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about fostering donor loyalty through strategic communication and thoughtful engagement. This position leads and oversees the donor thank you letter and release form process, ensuring timely and accurate communication; co-manages stewardship reporting and donor recognition; and works with campus partners to create a culture change related to gratitude and thanking donors.

As the Assistant Director of Donor Relations, you will:
- Provide leadership and management of the donor thank you letter and release form process. This includes requesting, tracking and proofreading hundreds of thank you letters from scholarship recipients, students who receive internship support, and students and faculty who receive donor support through funds administered by URSCA, the Provost’s Office, and individual departments. Manage student-donor visits, phone calls and video calls.
- Partner with the Senior Director of Donor Relations and Advancement Operations to oversee the production of stewardship reports, including endowed fund and Immediate Impact Scholarship reports, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Manage Annual Fund stewardship initiatives, coordinating all related activities. Alongside the Senior Director of Donor Relations and Advancement Operations plan, execute, and assess the effectiveness and impact of stewardship programs and projects. Manage the ThankView software platform, including content development and curation for high-impact stewardship messaging.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Donor Relations and Advancement Operations to lead the planning, evaluation, and execution of donor recognition events, and other special events as needed. Take primary responsibility for managing the donor recognition spaces in the Patricia Bush Tippie Alumni Center.
- Develop and lead a student philanthropy education program, collaborating with campus partners to foster a culture of gratitude and donor appreciation. Plan, coordinate, and manage an annual gratitude event on campus.
- Assist with special projects, as needed. Respond to inquiries from campus partners.

Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant experience required
- The successful individual will be committed to a liberal arts education, to meeting challenging goals and to continuing his or her education regarding philanthropy and higher education through reading, other media and regular attendance at seminars and conferences.
- The individual must have keen attention to detail, strong computing skills, excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills. Impeccable writing and editing abilities are required. This individual must be able to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion. The individual must have excellent project management skills with the ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision and to work effectively on several projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. The individual must be able to work well under deadlines and pressure, yet maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of Google Suite of Products

YOUR COMPENSATION
New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
The expected starting salary range for this position is $47,000 to $50,000 annually. This position is full time, exempt.
