Summary of Position
The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) at Allegheny College is a pivotal member of the Residence Life team, responsible for creating a vibrant and supportive living environment within the campus residence halls. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Residence Life, the RLC oversees the day-to-day operations of the residence halls and provides supervision and guidance to the Head Resident Advisors (HRAs) and the Resident Advisors (RAs). The RLC plays a critical role in developing and implementing curriculum-related programs and initiatives that foster community building, personal growth, and academic success among residential students.

As the Campus Postal Operations Manager, you will:
- Supervision and Leadership: Provide direct supervision and support to the Head Resident Advisors (HRAs) and Resident Advisors (RAs), including regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment within the Residence Life team, promoting collaboration, communication, and teamwork among staff members. Serve as a mentor and role model for Resident Advisors (RAs), offering guidance, feedback, and resources to help them excel.
- Program Development, Implementation, and Assessment: Collaborate on developing and executing a Residence Life Curriculum focused on community building, cultural awareness, wellness, and personal growth, while planning and evaluating programs with student leaders and campus partners.
- Crisis Management and Student Support: serve as first pro-staff responder, enforce hall policies and procedures, serve as resource and advocate for residents.
- Community Engagement and Outreach: cultivate positive relationships across campus, facilitate community meetings, focus groups, and feedback sessions. Promote campus-wide intiatives, events, and student support resources. Participate/observe RA programming in residence hall, connecting with residents.
- Administrative Duties: Manage day to day operations, including THD or other housing software, maintain accurate records and documentation.

Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required, Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field preferred.
- 1 – 3 years experience required, 4-7 year experience preferred.
Required Knowledge of
- Previous experience in residence life, student affairs, or related fields preferred.
- Commitment to promoting student development, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the residence hall community.
- Knowledge of student development theory, best practices in residence life, and legal and ethical issues in higher education.
Required Skills in
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Proven ability to manage crises, resolve conflicts, and make sound decisions under pressure.

YOUR COMPENSATION
New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role.
The expected starting range for this position is $35,568 per year. This is an hourly non-exempt position.
