Students are provided their Allegheny username at the point of deposit, to welcome them into the Allegheny community and allow them to receive official correspondence.
Employees are provided their username, and initial set of 2-Step Verification codes by their immediate supervisor or department chairperson.
Your password provides access to Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, and Drive), campus computers, library resources, and other network services available at the College. The default password must be changed at the earliest opportunity.
Allegheny passwords must be changed annually to keep the account active. Inactive accounts will be deleted after six months of inactivity. If you have not yet done so, please change your password right now.
Account passwords must be a minimum of 14 characters. Secure passwords ideally contain a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols or punctuation such as #!&*%_.
Users should add a current phone number and alternate email to Self Service to enable the option of receiving a text or email to confirm identity when their password is not working.
