Allegheny College Civic Symphony and Chamber Strings To Perform on Friday
MEADVILLE, Pa. – April 22, 2008 – Allegheny College’s Civic Symphony and Chamber Strings will perform on Friday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. The free concert, conducted by Allegheny adjunct professor Robert Rudolph, will take place in the Henderson Campus Center lobby on the Allegheny campus.
Entrance music will be provided by the Allegheny Guitar Quartet.
The program will feature a performance by Lydia Byard, a 16-year-old fiddler from Mayville, N.Y., with her father accompanying her at the piano. Byard is the current National Junior Scottish Fiddle Champion.
Music selections will include “Overture to Nabucco,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” “Waltz from The Sleeping Beauty,” “Thunder and Lightning Polka,” “A Salute to Richard Rodgers” and three works by Bach: “Arioso,” “Brandenburg Concerto, No. 5” and “Fugue in G Minor.”
