Matthew Hutchinson (Senior)

Matt is a Chemistry major and Global Health minor with interests in analytical chemistry and nutrition. He has worked on several projects which aim to quantify nutritional deficiency within a global context, the most recent being a collaboration between Tufts University and the World Bank. Matt intends to blend his interests in chemistry and nutrition to improve the world’s access to “good food”.

Kala Mahen (Senior)

Kala is a Neuroscience major on the Pre-Med track with interests in Environmental Science, Global Health, and Psychology. She is a pitcher on the varsity softball team at Allegheny and participates in Newman Catholic Club, Pre- Health Club, and Students for Environmental Action. She considers herself a non-practicing vegetarian and enjoys water sports, hanging out with the above mentioned creekers, and shopping. She was lucky enough to participate in Creek Connections while attending Lakeview.

Grace O’Malley (Junior)

Grace a Biology major and a Spanish minor and plans to go to grad school after she graduates from Allegheny to get her PhD in aquatic ecology. She is a sister of Alpha Chi Omega where she is on the executive board. Grace loves hiking, kayaking, traveling, and playing with her dog Nellie.

Brianna O’Neil-Hankle (Junior)

Brianna is an Environmental Science major and Mathematics minor on the Engineering track. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and biking. She is a member of the Outing Club, Knitting Club, and Clay Club. She participated in Creek Connections while attending North Hills and absolutely loved it!

Mary-Elizabeth Zipparo (Junior)

Mary-Elizabeth, Mimi, is a Biology major and Psychology minor on a Pre-Med track.  She participates in Biology Club, Pre-Health Club, and Meditation Club.  Mimi enjoys reading, hanging out with her friends and family, and going on mini adventures throughout the day.  She was also a member of the QV Creekers during High School, who work with Creek Connections.

Gretchen Barbera (Sophomore)

Gretchen Barbera is an Environmental Science major with a minor in English. On campus, she is a member of the Women’s Varsity Lacrosse team as well as a sister of Alpha Chi Omega and active member of the Allegheny Club Ultimate team. Gretchen loves hiking, running, and rock climbing. You can usually find Gretchen on campus playing around in the pottery studio or looking at the aquaponics system!

Isabella Petitta (Sophomore)

Isabella Petitta, Bella, is an Environmental Science major with biology and psychology double minor. She participates in Students for Environmental Action, Outing Club, and Knitting Club.  Bella enjoys hiking, kayaking, and anything outside. She participated with Creek Connections in middle school and loved it!

Robin Forsha (Freshman)

Robin is an Environmental Science major and Biology minor. She likes to do anything outdoors, but some of her favorite activities are hiking, kayaking, golf, and traveling with her family. Her favorite animals are frogs and salamanders. She attended a summer creek camp session in high school and had a great time!

Madison Sherman (Freshman)

Madi is an Environmental Science major and Communication Arts minor. She is a volunteer firefighter and is involved with Outing club and theater. She enjoys outdoor activities, listening to music, and spending time with her friends. She is very happy to be at Allegheny and to be working for Creek Connections.
