What’s so special about a kitchen? It connects the classroom to a universal aspect of daily life.
Through classes and experiences with the Carr Hall Garden, greenhouse, and aquaponic systems the Environmental Science and Sustainability department teaches students about agricultural science, food systems, food justice, and cooking. Carr Hall’s kitchen allows students to learn about the final stage of the food production process.
The kitchen is utilized throughout the year by classes, such as ENVS 230 Soil to Plate and Junior Seminars, as well as by student researchers.
