Summary of Position
The Psychology Department invites applicants for a full-time tenure track assistant professor position beginning August 2026. The specific field of study in psychology is open, though we are especially interested in candidates from applied areas, including but not limited to, community psychology, I/O psychology, health psychology, and applied social psychology.
Doctoral degree in any field of psychology or closely-related discipline (e.g., Education, Leadership, etc.) is required by the start date.
The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to (a) undergraduate teaching, (b) the active involvement of undergraduate students in research, and (c) creating a sense of belonging for all students.
Teaching load is typically 6 courses per academic year and may vary depending on Senior Project advising. Courses taught might include Foundations of Psychology, Statistics, Research Methods, and lower and upper level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. All faculty are expected to participate in delivering college-wide writing and speaking seminars as part of their teaching load. The successful candidate will provide evidence of excellence in teaching, ongoing scholarship, and professional development. Excellent teaching and research facilities are available.
