All members of the Allegheny College community have a responsibility to contribute to, and maintain, a welcoming and inclusive environment. If you are the target of, witness to, or even simply hear about any form of incident or bias happening to an Allegheny student, you should report the incident immediately. These reports, which can be anonymous, assist the College in tracking, investigating, or responding to incidents in order to mitigate their impact on our community.
The incident may be immediately addressed through the Public Safety Office, Student Conduct Office or via the Bias Response Team. The Dean of Students, IDEAS Center and Office of Student Conduct receives each report submitted online. Given that our practice is informed by the values of restorative justice, we review EVERY submitted report in order to determine next steps which vary based upon the circumstances of each incident.
We are committed to the highest standards of civility and decency toward all students as reflected in our Statement of Community. The College works to resolve concerns, and investigates known facts to determine if college policies have been violated. Our primary concern is to promote a welcoming, respectful, tolerant and engaging campus climate by reporting incidents involving members of the Allegheny College community.
