System Maintenance

Wireless Network Maintenance Monday July 1st

System maintenance taking place across campus the morning of Monday, July 1st may briefly impact wireless connectivity for AC-Guest and AC-Wireless. If any devices lose connectivity, restart the device and attempt to reconnect.

If devices are still unable to connect after restarting, please contact the InfoDesk at 814-332-3768.

Printing Disruption Tuesday June 25th

System maintenance taking place on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 25th will cause a brief disruption in which printing will be unavailable. This disruption should last no longer than 15 – 30 minutes.

If anyone is unable to print for longer than the time expected, please contact the InfoDesk for support at 814-332-3768.

LITS encourages printing through the Release Printers queue whenever possible. Please see our LITS web page for printing on campus to learn how to print to the Release Printers queue.

Wireless Network Maintenance Monday June 24th

System maintenance taking place across campus the morning of Monday June 24th may briefly impact wireless connectivity for AC-Guest and AC-Wireless. If any devices lose connectivity, restart the device and attempt to reconnect.

If devices are still unable to connect after restarting, please contact the InfoDesk at 814-332-3768.

Upcoming Network Maintenance

Network maintenance during the week of 6/11 may cause a brief disconnect from the internet for campus laptops on the wireless network.

If you are experiencing connectivity issues that persist longer than a few minutes, please contact the InfoDesk.

“Schedule Error” emails

Routine maintenance on the Informer report server caused all scheduled reports to run twice.

Informer reports with appropriate and valid data ran successfully. However, they also generated an error message. Reports that would typically have returned zero results without sending an email, instead generated an error email as well.

If anyone on campus received an error message today (May 30, 2019) about an Informer report with the subject “Schedule Error” and the name of a report, these can be safely ignored.

As always, if you have questions, please contact the InfoDesk (x3768).

Colleague UI Upgrade

The user interface used to access Colleague will be upgraded to the latest version, 5.9, on Monday June 3 at 6 a.m. Users should not need to clear their cache like in previous upgrades. Users will know that they are on the latest version if they see their username next to the Log Out button. The upgrade includes visual and performance improvements.

Informer License Expiring Message

Our college-wide Informer license is set to expire on 6/27/19. LITS is working to renew that license, but until we do a message will appear on the Informer login page with a countdown to expiry.

Users can ignore this message, and the message will no longer display as soon as we renew our license. Informer is not going away.

Network Maintenance

LITS will be performing some behind-the-scenes network maintenance on college computers campus-wide. There should be no noticeable impact for end users, but please open a Web Help Desk ticket if you encounter any disruptions.

Intermittent outages

It has been brought to the attention of LITS that Allegheny College’s Internet provider will be conducting some emergency upkeep on their network. This could cause intermittent outages and loss of Internet on the campus network between midnight Thursday (3/21) and 2 a.m. Friday (3/22).

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this necessary maintenance.
