GMail

GMail is Google’s email platform and is the primary communication tool used on campus. Students and faculty are expected to check their GMail accounts regularly. Google’s Learning Center is a great place to look for help using GMail.

Calendar

Schedule appointments, prioritize tasks, or send group invitations; Google Calendar has many uses. If you are using Microsoft Outlook, you can easily switch to Google Calendar.

Docs

Drive

LITS recommends saving to your Google Drive. Google Drive can be accessed from any device. Google Drive for Desktop is installed on most College-owned PCs and can be used to access your Google Drive and shared drives from the native file browser in Windows and Mac. Note: In January 2021, Google announced a new name for File Stream. The new name is Google Drive for Desktop. Over time, as Google updates their documentation, LITS pages will be updated to reflect the new name.

Meet

Meet is a virtual meeting platform. Send chat messages, make video calls, and collaborate with others. Learn more about using Meet.

Sheets

Google Sheets is a spreadsheet platform similar to Microsoft Excel.© Multiple users can work on the same data in real time when using Spreadsheets. Learn more about the power of Sheets in Google’s Learning Center.

Sites

Google Sites is a web page building tool. Easily create a web page for class or any projects. Review the guide from Google’s Learning Center to get started.

Slides

Google Slides is a free presentation program that allows you to work with simultaneous users on the same project. You can also use Slides to open any PowerPoint presentation. Get started with Slides.
