Bentley Hall Renovation Featured by the Meadville Tribune

Bentley Hall under renovationThe Meadville Tribune recently featured an article about the renovation of Bentley Hall, Allegheny College’s oldest and most famous building.

“The scope of work is a complete interior and exterior rehabilitation with the building gutted to its shell,” the article notes. “The work includes replacement of roofs and windows; foundation stabilization and waterproofing; replacement of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; installation of geothermal heating and cooling; construction of an elevator and eight restrooms; and complete interior renovation.”

The renovation project resumed on May 4 after construction activity was shut down on March 20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Plans now call for construction to continue through the fall with the building to be turned back over to Allegheny by the school’s Thanksgiving break,” the article states. “The college then will have from late November until late February 2021 to move all offices relocated by the project back into the building.”
