Professor Juvia Heuchert Keynote Speaker in Durban, South Africa

Professor Juvia Heuchert delivered an invited keynote address entitled “African Contributions to Peace Psychology” at the 1st Pan-African Psychology Congress in Durban, South Africa held from the 18th to the 21st of September, 2017. This historic congress was the first time ever in which psychologists from across Africa gathered to deliberate on psychological issues specific to Africa, as well as more general themes related to human rights, inequality, and well-being. Dr. Heuchert was the only African keynote speaker invited from outside Africa to address the congress. To learn more about the congress, watch this promotional video:

All students taking a Psychology Class, all Psychology Majors, all Phi Chi members…join us next Wednesday Oct 4th for the Psychology Picnic! Come to Carnegie Hall between 5:00 pm -6:30 pm and get to know the members of the psychology department. There will be donuts, hot apple cider, hot chocolate, apple pie and pumpkin pie!

This Friday, April 21st, the Psychological Science Brown Bag will have some Psychology and Neuroscience students present their research.  All students are invited.  Carnegie Hall room 105 from 12:15 pm – 1:15 pm.

HOW TO PREPARE A RESEARCH POSTER–PSYCHOLOGICAL SCIENCE BROWN BAG — APRIL 7

On Friday, April 7, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in Carnegie Hall, Room 105, the Psychological Science Brown Bag, in cooperation with the URSCA office, will hold a session on “How to Prepare a Research Poster/Presentation.” If you’ve never developed a poster before and are thinking about presenting at a conference, this is a great opportunity to learn about the process. Students from any department/program are welcome. We will have poster examples from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Grab your lunch and join us to develop this important skill.
