Pass Down Your Gown

The Pass Down Your Gown program creates the opportunity for graduation gowns to be passed down from one graduating class to the next. This program eliminates the need for graduating students to purchase a gown they will only use once, and keeping unwanted gowns out of the landfill. Each year during commencement, the Office of Sustainability collects gowns from graduating students and then matches those gowns to students the following year to borrow and return. If you are graduating and are interested in borrowing a gown for commencement or want to donate a gown you have purchased from the Merriman Campus Store, email the Office of Sustainability.

The Pass Down Your Gown program was originally designed by an Office of Sustainability student intern and has collected more than 50 gowns. The goal for this program is to collect enough gowns that every graduating student has the opportunity to borrow one!
