Bentley Hall Renovation

Preserve & Enhance Historic Bentley Hall

The most iconic building on Allegheny’s beautiful campus, Bentley Hall represents our distinguished past and our continued status as a premier national liberal arts institution.

Henry and Patricia Bush Tippie ’56 have generously presented the College with a $7 million challenge gift to preserve the rich tradition of Bentley Hall. The Fund for Bentley Hall Challenge, a dollar-for-dollar match, already has generated an additional $6.5 million in gifts from other Allegheny alumni and friends. Fundraising continues for the remaining $500,000 of the project cost.

The scope of work includes: replacement of roofs, windows, and deteriorated exterior wood; removal of paint from exterior masonry; foundation stabilization and waterproofing; replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; installation of geothermal heating and cooling; construction of an elevator and eight restrooms; and complete interior renovation.
