“Tell Me About Yourself”: Elevator Pitch Workshop

When: Tuesday, April 3, 3:30 pm- 5:00 pm

What: One of the most common questions that starts an interview is “Tell me about yourself”. Do you know how to answer? Everyone is invited to attend our workshop to help you craft and perfect your elevator pitch! Whether you’re an underclassman looking for internships or a graduating senior in the search for a job/grad school, everyone can benefit from having a well-crafted elevator pitch!

Who are you? Where are you going? Career Seminar for Gateway 100/300 Students

When: Thursday, April 12, 4:30- 6:30 pm

Where: Pelletier Collaboratory 

What: All students who were enrolled in a Gateway 100/300 course during either the Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 semesters are invited to this Career Seminar to create concrete materials related to their course experiences. The session will include Resume & Cover Letter Development, Online Networking Resources, and Elevator Pitch Construction. Students should bring their resumes either in a hard copy (printed) or on their laptops for review. If you have another commitment at the same time please feel free to arrive late or leave early.

Funding for Summer Internships in Washington, DC

There is still time to get a summer internship in Washington, DC! Log in to Gator Connect to view the positions available. Already have an internship in the DC Metro area and need financial help? The Betsy Dotson Experiential Learning Fund exists to offer financial support to students who have obtained an experiential learning opportunity (internship) in Washington, D.C. All full-time Allegheny students who have secured an internship in the Washington D.C. metro area are eligible to apply. Students interested in financial assistance must attend drop-in hours in Career Education Monday or Wednesday between 2-4pm to receive a funding application.
Applications should be turned in by April 9 for best consideration for funding.

What: Vector Marketing is the sales and marketing division of Cutco. Vector reps are independent contractors and they set their own schedules and have the opportunity to control how much they earn through a guaranteed base pay and commissions earned on each sale. Vector Marketing is a single-level, direct-to-consumer marketing company and is recognized as an official member of the Direct Selling Association.
