Commencement Will be Held Indoors

Due to the inclement weather predicted for today, we will be holding Commencement in the Wise Center at 2 p.m. Graduates, please make sure that your family has the Commencement tickets they will need to be admitted to the Wise Center. Also please keep in mind that additional seating is available in Shafer Auditorium, which provides comfortable seating and big-screen viewing of the ceremony. Congratulations to the Class of 2018!

President Mullen, the faculty, and staff of Allegheny College cordially invite you to attend a weekend steeped in tradition – Commencement 2018 in the 203rd year of the College. In addition to the Baccalaureate ceremony on Friday and the Commencement ceremony on Saturday, many events will be planned for graduates and their families.

  • Wise Center Sports Forum
  • Tickets: Required – Tickets issued directly to graduating student
  • Closed Circuit Viewing: Shafer Auditorium – For guests with children and/or those not holding tickets

Information Packets
No information packets will be mailed. All Commencement information can be found online.

Weather / Location
The decision on the location of the Commencement ceremony will be announced online (this site,, My Allegheny) and in social media (, , ) on the morning of Commencement.

All students walking in Commencement need to pick up their Commencement tickets from the Office of Conference and Event Services (Schultz Hall – Room 191) between 9 AM and 4 PM, Monday, May 7 through Thursday, May 10.
