Ruth manages the Allegheny College Archives and the Merrick Archival Center and offers reference services for both the archives and special collections, including manuscript, book, photograph, artifact and digital collections, offers one-on-one research consultations, assists History Department interns, and assists navigating DSpace records and JSTOR image collections. Research materials from the Archives related to Allegheny History and our large and varied special collections, including Ida Tarbell manuscripts, Civil War books and manuscripts and the Original Library of Alleghany College (1823) are available for use. Small group and class visits are available by appointment.
