SPRING SEMESTER JUNIOR YEAR

| During your junior year you will receive a form in the spring asking for information about your proposed senior project and preferred first reader. Please fill out that form so that you can be assigned to an ENVSC 600 section in the fall. | |

ESS DEPARTMENT SENIOR PROJECT SCHEDULE
FALL SEMESTER SENIOR YEAR (2026)

| By Tuesday, August 26 | Register for and attend the appropriate section of ENVSC 600. |
| By Friday, September 26 | Submit a 1900-2200 word proposal to your committee (first and second readers). |
| By Wednesday, October 08 | Complete your proposal meeting with your first and second reader. |
| By Friday, December 05 | Comp Progress Report due to First Reader: Full Introduction, Process/Approach, and Preliminary Results. (Failure to meet any of these deadlines will result in a grade penalty.) |
| By Monday, January 12 |
Register for the appropriate section of ENVSC 610. |
| By Friday, February 20 | Submit a first draft of your written thesis to your advisor. |
| By Friday, March 20 | Submit a final draft of your written thesis to each member of your committee by 5:00 pm. (Failure to meet this deadline will result in a full letter grade penalty, plus an additional letter grade penalty for each additional week past this date.) |
| By Wednesday, April 15 | Complete your oral defense of your senior project before your committee. |
| Tuesday, April 21 | Senior Celebration |
| By Monday, April 27 | Step 1. Submit an electronic copy of your abstract via the ESS Department Abstract Form to the department.
Step 2. Submit an electronic copy of your thesis to Pelletier Library according to instructions here: https://library.allegheny.edu/seniorprojects. Note that you must first fill out the online permission for and submit it to your advisor for approval. Step 3. Respond to the ESS survey and let us know about your plans after graduation. (Your grade cannot be submitted – and therefore you will not graduate until Steps 1 through 3 have been completed to the satisfaction of your advisor.) |
