From December 18 to January 6, 2020, the library is switching Kanopy to “request mode.” During this period, faculty and students can instantly access films that we have currently purchased on Kanopy. A list is available at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xSt6nimB2j0D-JWESgApfWOg9x37fRv3BJBoJ2nrHCM/edit?usp=sharing. If you need to access a film not on this list, you can fill out a form on Kanopy’s website. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. All films will be reinstated on January 6, Faculty preparing courses for next year over the winter break can add the film’s link to their Sakai course. On Jan 6, the links will be live and ready to go.

The library has been forced to limit access during the breaks due to unexpected high usage and unplanned cost increases. Faculty using Kanopy films for their courses are strongly encouraged to send a list of their films to bkern@allegheny.edu so we can better track usage and manage our costs.
