For Laptop, Phone, or Tablet

Wireless Connections

  1. Connect to Allegheny Students on your laptop, phone, or tablet.
  2. Enter your Allegheny username (the part of your email preceding @allegheny.edu) and your password.
    • If prompted, choose PEAP for the EAP Method and Don’t Validate for the CA Certificate.
    • If prompted, trust the certificate.
  3. For Android and Apple devices, turn off MAC randomization/private address.

For Gaming Consoles and All Other Devices

Connecting Devices Wirelessly

  1. Connect your laptop, phone, or tablet to the Allegheny MyDevices wireless network.
  2. Enter default wireless password/key: internet
  3. Go to allegheny.myresnet.com with your device’s web browser.
  4. Log in with your Allegheny username (the part of your email preceding @allegheny.edu) and your password.
  5. Select Add to add the new device.
  6. Enter the name of the device you want to connect, MAC address, and description.
  7. Select Submit.
  8. Restart your newly added device.
  9. Connect the device to Allegheny MyDevices.

'Pending' status

Even after connecting successfully to the network, some connection requests will still display a Pending status in the Allegheny My Devices network. As long as your device is able to connect, a Pending status can be safely ignored.

Connecting Devices to Wired Ports

  1. Connect your device to a wired port in your college residence.
  2. If your device has wireless capability, proceed to step 4 to register your device.
  3. If your device does not have wireless capability, use a phone or laptop to connect and proceed to
    step 4.
  4. Connect to the Allegheny My Devices wireless network.
  5. Enter default wireless password/key: internet
  6. Go to allegheny.myresnet.com with your device’s web browser.
  7. Log in with your Allegheny username (the part of your email preceding @allegheny.edu) and your
    password.
  8. Select Add to add the new device.
  9. Enter the device name, MAC address, and description.
  10. Select Submit.
  11. Restart your newly added device.
