Purpose: The Women in Popular Culture Club aims to be an organization for students on campus to view and analyze popular culture from a feminist lens. We would like to create an open space for Allegheny students to analyze popular culture and to discuss popular culture with others. We would like to feature pieces of media that are directed or produced by a woman, feature an empowering female protagonist, or have social or cultural significance in the way women are portrayed. The club is open to all students at Allegheny who enjoy watching and analyzing popular culture and are interested in the role of women in popular culture.
