Annual M&CL Welcome Picnic

Study Abroad participants (right) rise to be recognized by Chair Barbara Riess (center)

The Modern & Classical Languages Department kicked off the 2017-18 academic year in style with a picnic on the lawn outside Ruter Hall on September 13th.  Guests included language majors & minors, faculty, staff and their families.  Chair Barbara Riess introduced new faculty, teaching assistants, and staff and welcomed several “friends of the department” with whom the department has a close working relationship.  A highlight of the afternoon was the recognition of the many students in attendance who had studied abroad and hearing them talk about their life-changing experiences.

Teach Spanish in a Southern private school

Private schools are looking for candidates who have a strong background in Spanish and are able to share their passion with students; they usually do NOT need to have a teaching license or be an education major.

Southern Teachers is a teacher placement agency for private schools in the South. Hundreds of schools around the South will list about 3,000 jobs with Southern Teachers for the next school year. The field is open to academic majors of all kinds, not just graduates with degrees in education. Services are provided at no cost to candidates.

Candidates should apply now to start their job search. In addition, all active candidates are invited to attend the Job Fair in AtlantaSuper Bowl Saturday, February 3, 2018.
