200 Years: 1815-2015
In 1815, the Reverend Timothy Alden and members of the Meadville community founded Allegheny College. Today, nearly 200 years later, Allegheny College is one of the nation’s oldest, most successful and distinguished private liberal arts institutions. Allegheny will continue on with its traditions by educating young men and women to confront the challenges of our shared future.
The Bicentennial Celebration of Allegheny College will embrace and immerse our students, faculty, alumni, friends, parents, campus community and Meadville community through reflection on our past, celebrating the present and projecting a clear vision of our future in higher education.
