Theatre Scholarship Auditions

Theatre Scholarship Audition-Interviews

The Allegheny College Theatre Scholarships are awarded based upon a student’s intended level of participation and ability. Students who plan to major or minor in Theatre are eligible, as are those who plan to participate in co-curricular productions in the Playshop Theatre but have majors and minors outside of Theatre. The Award is $1000 and is renewable based upon continued participation.

All applicants should prepare a letter of intent that explains how they see their work in Theatre as part of a liberal arts education. During the audition-interview, students will present their work, discuss their past experience, and share what they hope to gain during their time at Allegheny.

Performance applicants should prepare either a 2-minute monologue or two 1-minute monologues. Design and production applicants should bring physical or digital examples of their work. Directing and management applicants should bring a sample of their work, such as a recording of a scene or a prompt book. We expect that students may have a range of experiences. If you have questions about what to prepare, please contact department chair, Michael Mehler (mmehler@allegheny.edu).
