Summer Programs and REUs
Research opportunities all Allegheny. The Dean of the College provides support for students engaged in research with an Allegheny faculty member. Consult with a faculty member if you are interested and look over the Guidelines for Student/Faculty Summer Research.
Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Mathematics (REUs) provides links to the various programs being offered for summer.
Programs especially for women and minorities:
- Carleton/St. Olaf Colleges Summer Mathematics Program for Women (participation is limited to women mathematics students completing their first or second year of college)(Allegheny student Rebecca Egg ’09 attended this program in Summer 2007.)
- George Washington University’s Summer Program for Women in Mathematics(participation is limited to women mathematics students completing their junior year of college)
(Allegheny alumnus Joy Gabany ’98 attended this program in Summer 1997, and Christina Galli ’01 attended in Summer 2000. Prof. Lakins taught a 2 week course in mathematical logic for the Summer 2001 and 2002 programs.) - Edge Program: Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (participation is limited to women who are graduating seniors)
