Alumni Career Resources

Announcing new Executive Director of Career Education: Brian Collingwood

Since I began my role about halfway through Spring ‘22, I’ve had great conversations with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and employers about their Allegheny experiences. I am excited to launch into more conversations and planning this fall as we work toward expanding connectivity between students and alumni. An employer recently shared that the world needs more critical thinkers and that a liberal arts education like the one at Allegheny propels thinkers forward to make a difference through their work. I couldn’t agree more, and look forward to our next chapter in preparing students for life after college.

-Brian

Resources for Alumni

Career Consultations

We continue to support our recent and young alumni during times of career transitions. To schedule a time with a career coach, use the Appointments feature in Handshake or email career@allegheny.edu to get started.

  • Alumni are also invited to participate in career development events throughout the year, such as programming during Blue & Gold Weekend in the fall. Keep a lookout for opportunities to engage with career coaches throughout the year.

Handshake

Browse and apply for a variety of internships and jobs through Handshake. Filter your search for “ac connection” to see opportunities known to be directly supported by alumni. Explore other features, including the employer directory, the events calendar, and career center resources.

  • Alumni can log in from the Allegheny College page and enter an Allegheny username and password. If needed, Alumni can establish new accounts with a preferred email address that can be reviewed/approved in the portal.

Gator2Gator

Engage with alumni locally and globally through Gator2Gator! As an alum, you have access to a powerful online and in-person network of diverse Allegheny community members that can help you build connections.

  • Student accounts already created will shift to Alumni accounts within the system. Alumni that did not have a student account can create new accounts and connect with fellow Gators after being reviewed/approved.

Career Corner Newsletter

Keep up to date with all things Career Education by reading our Career Corner Newsletter. This alumni centered electronic publication will be sent periodically throughout the year and will keep you posted on alumni career resources, ways to engage, events and alumni stories.
