“My name is Atlas Besenfelder, and I am currently a junior at Allegheny College and an environmental science major with an economics minor. Once I graduate from Allegheny my goal is to work with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. I would love to be able to either work to study, and eliminate, many of the non-native pests which are decimating our native tree populations, or fight to combat the massive populations of invasive species which threaten the entirety of Lake Erie.

“I am a Lab Technician Assistant for the Geology Department and I also work with a group of fellow students in maintaining and improving the David Shipe Aquaponics Center. I’m also the Allegheny College Club Hockey coach. We have had successful seasons each of the past two years which culminated in two league championships and we are striving for our third this season.

“Coming from a single parent household, it wasn’t a guarantee that I would be able to attend college, which is something I strived for my entire life. Without your support there is no way that I would be able to continue to get such an amazing education and experience from such a prestigious educational institute. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wouldn’t be able to study what I am passionate about without your support. Again, thank you.

God Bless,”
