PA Equality Project
PEP seeks to end legal discrimination based on real or perceived sexual and gender identity. Furthermore, PEP also seeks to end maltreatment against people within the LGBTQ+ community. PEP is working with other organizations to ban conversion therapy on minors in Pennsylvania. PEP’s goal is to secure equal and equitable treatment under the law for all Pennsylvanians regardless of ethnic heritage, sexual and/or gender identity, age, or race, disability, and take any appropriate actions toward that goal.

Allegheny College IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, & Social Justice) Center
IDEAS Center is the social/emotional brave space providing support and validation of the experiences of under-resourced student populations. The center also provides a gathering place for dialogue and support surrounding the concerns of inclusion, diversity, equity, access and social justice.

Greater Erie Alliance for Equality
The Greater Erie Alliance for Equality, Inc. Human Rights Campaign
By inspiring and engaging individuals and communities, the Human Rights Campaign strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. HRC envisions a world where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people plus community members who use different language to describe identity are ensured equality and embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Resource in Meadville
Dr. Gagandeep Grewal (/gree-wall/), endocrinologist in Meadville. PH (814) 373-4270, open M-Th 7-4:30, closed 12-1 and all-day Friday; for HRT requires medical referral from psychiatrist or psychologist stating that the patient will benefit from HRT due to gender dysphoria. Medical records from PCP/pediatrician and/or psych. required. Does accept Medicaid.

PRIDE Counseling
Whether you are struggling with mental health issues, your identity, or just need someone to talk to, we believe help should be accessible to everyone. We noticed that individuals in the LGBTQ community suffer from mental health issues at a disproportionately high rate and we wanted to help. By providing online therapy to the LGBTQ community, we make help accessible and accepting of everyone. We provide a platform for people to get the help they need discretely, affordably, and conveniently. Message your therapist whenever an issue arises. Schedule sessions that work with your schedule.

Substance Abuse In The LGBTQ+ Community: Risk Factors & Treatment

Allentown Women’s Center (AWC)
Trans Health at Allentown Women’s Center  offers HRT and also annual physicals including breast exam and pap smear, birth control, and laser hair removal. AWC is in Bethlehem. Payment Options: AWC accepts insurance and offers limited financial assistance to those who qualify, find additional information at payment options. Age limits for services are not obvious, these services appear to be oriented to adults, but call the provider to learn age limits for services.

Alder Health Services
The gender-affirming medical services include HRT, primary care and sexual health, including chest/breast and pelvic health, HIV/STI treatments and testing including PrEP, family planning, and even a food pantry and clothing market. Trans Health at Alder Health Services is in Harrisburg. Payment Options: Options in addition to fee for services are not obvious, check with the provider for more information. The age limit for HRT is 18+, check with the provider for age limits on other services.

Allegheny Health Network (AHN)
Transgender Health Care @ AHN offers medical transition and the assumption is that this is gender-confirming HRT, and a variety of gender confirming surgeries  including breast reduction/ augmentation, chest reconstruction/ masculization, orchiectomy, and hysterectomy. Payment Options: AHN accepts insurance and works with patients to help them meet financial obligations and they will help you learn if you qualify for financial assistance.  AHN has several locations. Age limits for services are not obvious, these appear to be oriented adults, but call the provider with questions on age limitations for services.

Mazzoni Center
Center has a comprehensive set of gender-affirming services including HRT, primary medical care  HIV medical care, on-site pharmacy, breast/chest health care, GYN services/ cervical cancer screenings. Here is a comprehensive list of Mazzoni Center’s Health Care and Prevention Care services. Mazzoni Center produces the annual Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference, the largest The Largest Free Trans-Specific Conference in the World drawing over some 7,000 participants from around the globe.  The conference is free and offers hundreds of workshops including parent, and activities and spaces for kids and teens. Payment Options: Mazzoni Center accepts insurance programs and offers low cost co-pays on a sliding scale, click the link insurance and payment for more information. The Mazzoni Center has two locations in Philadelphia. The Mazzoni Center has services for patients of all ages.

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOPs)
The multi-disciplinary team at The Gender and Sexuality Development Clinic (GSD Clinic) offers psychosocial and medical support for gender variant, gender expansive and transgender children and youth up to age 21 and their families. The Gender and Sexuality Development Clinic will evaluate pediatric patients for puberty suppression and adolescent patients for gender-affirming medical treatment which we assume is HRT.  They also provide referrals for gender-affirming surgeries.  The clinic’s website has a lot of great resources like insurance advocacy, a lending library for books and videos, education videos and materials on the website, help with advocacy in schools and educational settings and recommendations for local LGBTQ friendly salons and stylists.

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
The Gender and Sexual Development Program is an integrated program that offers  HRT and puberty blockers. The Gender and Sexual Development Program at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh serves children and youth up to age 26.

Penn Medicine
It is not clear what services, if any Penn Medicine has for transgender patients, but they hae a Transgender Patient Advocaate Program which will help transgender patients find medical resources.

Planned Parenthood of Pennsylvania
Planned Parenthood organizations offer a wide range of services available to all people including primary care, HIV, SIT testing, counseling, and treatment PEP and PrEP, contraception and gynecological care including PAP smears. VA Health Care for LGBTQ Veterans in Pennsylvania
