Nazi Ideology on Trial

Abstract:

This senior thesis discusses how the structure of the Nuremberg Trials from 1945-1946 identifies important aspects of Nazi ideology, specifically through the individual cases of Hermann Goering, Hans Frank and Julius Streicher. This perspective overall helps us to understand the question of not just the “how” of the Holocaust, but the underlying answer of “why.” Diverse historical, philosophical, and psychological evidence has been used in order to answer this question, as well as the Nuremberg Trial transcripts.
