Via Appia: The Ancient Road That Led From Rome, Constructing a Trend of Political and Social Communications

Abstract:

The ancient Roman road called the “Via Appia,” or the “Appian Way,” set a model for ancient Roman roads. Several social communications, such as: economic, commercial, and public, and several political communications, such as: war, triumphs, and alliances, were some of the ways the road was used. During the first main construction that finished in 312 BCE, to about 50 BCE, the Via Appia is looked at in a way that shows how it began as a trend for roads to be used for more than a political tool, that it was a model for political and social communication uses.
