Tech Tip Tuesday – Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication, also known as 2-step verification, is a security process that requires more than one method of authentication to verify a user’s identity.

Does this technology sound familiar to you? Google provides an extra layer of protection to help minimize the chances of our Allegheny Google accounts from being compromised by requiring a password as well as a prompt that you must authorize, or unique code that is sent to you before accessing your account.

See this link for a how-to-guide for multi-factor authentication including what it is, how it works, and when it should be used.
